The Associazione Italia Tibet was established in 1988 by a group of friends with a passion for the culture and history of Tibet. During the years since it has always been active on two fronts: political and humanitarian.

With countless conferences, exhibitions, publications, events and demonstrations, and through its Italian-language website, Associazione Italia-Tibet has contributed significantly to raising public awareness in Italy about Tibet and Tibet-related issues.

The Association has also supported and been able to solicit funding for various institutions of the Tibetan community in exile such as the Tibetan Children’s Villages, the Delek hospital in Dharamsala, as well as various Tibetan NGOs.

The video below is a celebration of the Association’s long relationship with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who has visited Italy many times, especially the autonomous region of South Tyrol.
